It’s no secret that I love a Scottish romance. There are phases when it’s literally the trope I’m hunting for to read. This historical Scottish romance was no exception. I very much enjoyed it and read it in under two days. The author based the heroines hearing loss on the authors husbands own hearing journey- which was really cool.
I’d highly recommend this book if you love a historical romance, action packed, with feuding clans and tensions of war. It is an arranged marriage, opposites attract, protector, small town (I’m taking some liberties here but it all takes place mainly in one little village) romance.
Content warnings: kidnapping, sexual assault, killing, bullying. (It’s not crazy intense- there’s no rape on the page but it is action packed with feuding clans)
