Lick by kylie Scott

Let’s start off by saying this is the worst title and cover I’ve seen in a long time!

Next- this review has spoilers so gird your loins.

I made it almost half way through this book. I should’ve given up on it sooner but when the main characters started driving to my hometown I decided I had to keep going.

The main guy in this book is AWFUL. He gets married to the heroine when she is black out drunk and doesn’t remember anything. (He also has sex with her in this state). When she wakes up the next day he is pissed she doesn’t remember getting married to him. How exactly do you accidentally think someone is sober enough for marriage?

Fast forward: he brings her to a house he’s staying at so they can sign divorce papers. Drops her off in a room and leaves to go hookup with a groupie. Looking up at his wife as he walks into a pool house or something to go get it on with the groupie. He emerges from the tryst to see his wife talking to his brother and he goes nuts on her and accuses her of flirting with his brother (she was NOT).

Fast forward: he’s mad at his best friend for helping his wife. Jealous obv. He decides to take his wife on a road trip without telling his bff that he smashed his drum kit before he left.

The couple gets together on the road trip. After being around each other for maybe 12-24 hours she decides “he’s the best man she’s ever known.” I’m sorry, what?!!! Are we talking about the same guy?!

Back to the bff. He arrives to confront the hero about smashing his drum kit. He says he needs to punish him in some way. Grabs his wife and kisses her. Sticks his tongue down her throat. She bites his tongue. And they all laugh about it. WHAT?!!!!

No thank you.
