the temptation of a highlander (midnight in scotland #3) by elisa braden

You know when you’re ready to save something and post it but then the whole thing deletes and goes blank? Welp- that’s this review. So you’re getting a shorter one now.

This is the third book in a series (the 4th isn’t published yet…boooo!) and the fact that i’ve read the whole available series in a week means that I have loved it! Our hero, Campbell, well… I’m basically obsessed with him. I know I said that about Broderick in book two also but…man there’s just something about this family… swoon . Clarissa is so funny in the beginning of the book. I was laughing to myself and reading through my hands because of second hand embarrassment! Clarissa doesn’t maintain being super funny, so that was a bit of a bummer.

The other thing I didn’t love about the book was that after the couple finally sleeps together, we’re then reminded that they like to have sex like 7 times a day every day. That got super old to me.

Overall I was flying through this book and lost steam a bit around the 80% mark - ish.

4 out of 5 stars
5 out of 5 steam level

of note: this book is spicier than the first two!
content warning: death of a pet, sexual assault, violence.

ps. another trope of forced proximity!! the best!

while reading you should:

listen to: White and Red Lights by Between The Trees
and Infatuation by Maroon 5… “infatuation, not seeing the rest of you is getting the best of me…"I’m touching your skin, if it’s only a fantasy then why is it killing me? I guess this must be, infatuation”
